今日は災害ボランティアへ行ってきますので、
更新が遅くなります。

行ってきました。
想像はしていましたが、被災地域は本当に大変です。
ボランティアの方は、地域外の方が多く今日は４０名前後でした。
現地に向かう道のそばには、倒壊した家や土砂が流れ込んだ家が見られました。
あらためて今回の災害の凄さを感じました。
私たちがお手伝いに入ったお宅では、当日仕事場の屋根に上がって助けを待たれたそうです。
親戚の方に、もうだめかもしれないと電話されたそうです。
どれだけ不安と恐怖が襲っていたか、言葉にできません。
車も含めほとんどのものは土砂で流されていました。
隣の方は家が流され、思い出を探しに下流まで行かれたそうです。
幹線道路は重機が入って道は確保されていました。
しかし水は確保できず、一部の作業は滞りがちでした。
私たちは、仕事場にされていた建物に流れ込んだ土砂を運び出す作業を中心に行いました。
ここにスペースを確保することで、様々な道具や家具を置く場所が確保できるということです。
住まいの方は土砂で床上まで埋まっていたようで
土の中から出てきた炊事道具や食器を乏しい水で洗っておられました。
土砂は木の根が絡み合っており、簡単には運び出すことができません。
今回のような災害のボランティアに慣れている人は、
道具もそれに適したものを用意されており、大変勉強になりました。
帰り際には、お忙しいのに被災された方がわざわざ出向いてお礼を言ってくださいました。
どのようにお声をかけたらいいのか戸惑いながらも、二言三言お話をしました。
気丈に受け応えされる姿に、心の中で「頑張ってください。」と・・・。
元の様な生活に戻れるのがいつの日になるのかわかりませんが
