私の机の上に、昭和45年の100円硬貨があります。
赤茶けた一見10円に見えるものですが、なんだか郷愁を誘います。
昭和45年と言えば、1年の浪人生活の後やっと大学に入った年です。
浪人生活では、自分の不勉強、努力不足、頭の悪さをつくづく感じた期間でした。
失敗して頭をたたかれるのは、その時はショックですが後のことを考えれば大事ですね。
そもそもこの100円硬貨、どうしたのかと言えば
園児が保育所で堆肥を作っている所から偶然見つけたようです。
この堆肥のもとは、上野総合公園の近くの斜面の草ですから、作業をされた方のものか
あるいは造成した時に使った土の中にあったものか、
どちらにしても長い旅をしてここまでたどり着いたようです。
41年前、私は大学には入ったものの仕送りはなく、さていったいどうして生活しようと
不安いっぱいだったことを思い出します。
農家だったので、米だけは送ってもらっていました。これが貴重な財産でした。
この米を使って、友達に腹いっぱい食べられるからと100円ずつ出させ、
それで材料を買って料理をして凌いでいました。
また、当時はバスに車掌がついていましたが、朝4時に起きてこのアルバイトに行き
夜は家庭教師かスナックのアルバイトで食いつないでいました。
その時の経験が今、いろんな形で生きているような気がします。
当時は何で自分だけこんな生活をせんといかんのかなと思ったりもしましたが
今は、そのことがあったからだと感謝です。
初心に帰るきっかけの貴重な100円硬貨でした。
職場体験2日目の中学生の様子をお知らせします。
「スプーン持って来て！」とちびっこ母さんに言われたお父さん役の彼。
どこを探してもスプーンは見当たらず、仕方なく、お皿を持ってきました。
「ちがう！スプーンよ！」とダメだし。
スプーンはスコップだったのです。
「なんだ・・・・そうだったのか・・・」
ちょっとホッとした表情を浮かべました。
さすが中学生です。朝からばんばん動いてくれています。

危ない時は、そっと手を差しのべてくれるので、今日は安心して、一輪車を押してどこへでも行けます。
お片付けの時間です。
「お姉ちゃんの所に持って来て！」と声をかけると、恥ずかしがらずに持って来てくれました。
もうすっかり慣れた様子です。
お砂場で、団子づくりです。
じっくりゆっくり関わってもらえるので、子どもたちも満足そうです。
こちらも砂場で遊んでいました。
彼女は一人っ子なんだそうです。
5日間、たくさんの弟や妹が出来た気分を味わってください。
いなほ組は、スコーン作りです。
エプロンをつけて、こねるお手伝いです。

今日は、足洗いが楽しいようで、次々に友だちを呼んでは、足を洗ってあげていました。
